The Saville Gallery invites all members of the Allegany Arts Council to submit their artwork to the jury for our 8th Annual Members' Exhibition, which will run from November 27, 2009 through January 2, 2010. The exhibition is only open to members of the Allegany Arts Council, so if you are a visual artist who is not presently a member, this is a great time to join!

Artwork in all media will be considered by our 2009 jurors, Catherine Moreland (Executive Director of the Delaplaine Visual Arts Education Center) and Dave Moreland (Professor of Art and Art History at Frederick Community College).

All artwork to be juried for this year’s Members’ Exhibition should be hand-delivered to the Saville Gallery (9 N. Centre Street in Downtown Cumberland) on Saturday, November 21, between the hours of 10AM and 5PM. Application forms are now available from the Saville Gallery, or you may download an Application Form from this web site. Each artist may submit up to two (2) entries for a non-refundable fee of $5 per entry. Submissions must be original works of art that have been executed within the past two years, and have not been previously displayed in the Saville Gallery. The Saville Gallery requests that all artwork be for sale, and a 40% commission will be taken on any artwork sold during the exhibition.

This year’s exhibition will feature a total of $1,200 in artist awards, sponsored by the Allegany Area Art Alliance, Sandi Saville, Betsey Hurwitz-Schwab & Doug Schwab, Maureen Connelly & Anthony LoGiudice, Susan & John Davis, Karen & Jack Zealand, Act Personnel Service, and Lisa Schad. Awards will be presented during the Opening Reception on Saturday, November 28, from 6-8PM.
